I don't know about the index, but I've heard that Flash is pretty buggy when
it comes to tabbing though fields. Sometimes it seems to work okay, but it's
not reliable, and will jump around (as you've seen)unpredictably.

I know this doesn't help much, unless it helps to know you're not alone in
your frustration.

is there somewhere you can change the tab index of a
button or text box?

i have a form with 5 textboxes and a submit button
when in the first box and you hit tab it takes you to
the second box and then the third but when you hit tab
again it takes you to the submit button.

but there is still two more boxes that should have had
focus on them before the submit button?
