jd,

Do you have any documentation on this type of thing? I'd be happy to give
you a brief overview;

We would like create/display a web based component that recieves WML data
from our external server. This should (in a best case scenario :) work
similarly to the phone.com simulator...

Will you be at FF2K in NYC? I am meeting with various members of the
Macromedia team there...(Linnea Bohn and David Jacobs) and would like to
chat with you if you will be there and might have time!

Thanks for your response. Any and all development information you can
possibly spare would be greatly appreciated!!

Take care,

The Netscape browsers have two-way communication between applets and
scripts. The Microsoft browsers for PCs let scripts talk to applets, but
not to catch messages from applets. (The MS/Mac browsers don't let things
talk to each other.)

You should be able to achieve what you want in the Netscape browsers by
searching their docs with "LiveConnect". In the Flash Player outgoing
messages are handled by FSCommand, and incoming messages are handled by the
JavaScript API: play(), setVariable() and the rest.
