How do you use one of these templates. I downloaded them and then double
clicked on the adBanner 3 and all I saw was a black screen

Jeff,
Use the ad banner template when you publish the Flash movie. You can
get this template (actually there are 2, one for Flash 4 and one for
Flash 3 or 4) from
http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/downloads.html (they don't come
standard with Flash 4).
Once you've unzipped and installed the template in your macromedia\flash
4\html directory, you can use it for publishing. On the HTML tag under
Publish settings, specify ad 34 banner or ad 4 banner, and on the
Formats tab, check gif. Then publish the movie. If the whole page is a
Flash movie, then just use the html that Flash gives you -- you'll see
when you look in it that it's doing what you want, substituting a gif
for the flash when the plugin or activex is not found. If the movie is
in a table cell, then insert the code it produces (between <.script> and
<./noscript> into the table cell on your html page.
That should do it -- worked for me yesterday.
