"Your bill will reflect your ability to pay"

This is what I have listed on my on-line portfolio.

If the man wants what I've got he's going to
have to pay for it. Nike comes knockin? no
less than a kings ransom. A non-profit I support?
cheap-to-free.

The first freelance stuff I did @ 65/hr
and realized quickly that was *way* low.
I've bumped it to $95 w/o any argument.
and If I stay this busy...

That's tough without a sense of the complexity of the work, but I'd start at
$50/hr. and go up from there if they want complex interactivity. I'm new at
this, but I've been turning that rate without any argument. 30 seconds is a
long time, so maybe figure 3-4 days minimum if you have all the source
material and they just want a non-interactive Web version, or as long as 2
weeks if you have to do Photoshop/Freehand work and more complex Action
Scripting. It also kind of depends on the client and your relationship with
them. If they'll have tons more work later, charge 'em less for this one...
:)

I have an idea of this already, but I want to survey ane make sure I'm on
the same page with the rest of the world.

I've been asked to render a 30-second animation that was made for tv into
flash. I've yet to see the animation, but I was wondering if anybody could
give a good range for this type of work?

Thanks!
Olga
