OT: Video-out under OS8?

When trying to output video from a 7100/80 AV, I ran into a peculiar 

problem-- since I've switched to OS 8, the "Show Video on Television" 

button is gone from the Monitors & Sound control panel. The built-in 

Apple Guide seems to assume that the image will pop up on the screen 

automatically, but I just get a black screen.


Anyone currently doing video out from an AV Mac under system 8?
