The AfterShock utility does work with both SWF and DCR files, true.

Reminder: IE/Mac does not reveal its installed plugins when its JavaScript
navigator.plugins property is queried. The difference with this browser is
not due to AfterShock... this browser acts differently with handwritten
JavaScript, too.
(Although there is a nominal ActiveX spec for Macintosh, I don't know of
any real implementations to it... IE/Mac tends to use Netscape plugins,
instead.)
