The Apple update "ATI RAGE 128 Update" does not solve the Flash issue. It
does fix Quark though -- so there's at least some benefit.

There is a workaround though:

-- Go to the Extension Manger in the Control Panels folder and disable the
following extension from your current set.
----> ATI 3D Accelerator
----> ATI Driver Update
----> ATI Graphics manager
----> ATI MPP Manager
----> ATI Rage 128 3D Accelerator
----> ATI Resource Manager

To be honest disabling just one of them might do the trick, but I haven't
had the time to go through them and find out if just one is the culprit.

you can turn them back on again if your work is non-Flash. Don't forget to
restart your Mac in between times.

Your screen will still work -- just a bit slower.
