FLASH: Syncronizing movies?

if this is a duplication.




Hi everyone, 


I hate to pester you guys, but once again I've run into something 

I can't figure out. Or maybe it simply can't be done. I'll set the 

stage...


I have a two frame set as my index page. The first frameset is a 

small horizontal frame with a navigation movie (buttons) in it. The 

second one is the main target area for my intro movie. 


When the index page is loaded, both movies load. What I'm trying to 

accomplish is have the navigation movie load, then play to the end, 

then the intro movie begins. Since the movie file sizes are two vastly 

different sizes (18k for navigation and 120k for main), I'm having 

troubles getting them to play like I want them to. 


I have a very short pre-load on the nav movie, and it loads and plays 

like it's supposed to. Fine. The way the main movie is constructed, 

I can't hardly use the "if frame loaded" action. If I do, here's what 

happens. If I wait until frame 554 is loaded, the movie loads and 

takes off almost instantaneously and starts playing while the nav 

movie is still playing. That's what I'm trying to get away from. Too 

much going on at once. If I bump it up one frame to 555, (I'm bringing 

in a fairly large bmp) the thing chokes and takes an additional 30 

seconds or so to load. 


My work-around is to load a "blank" html document in the main frame, 

then use a "get URL" action somewhere in the navigation movie and go 

from there? Or maybe a "blank" main page with a re-direct after a bit?

Anybody have any other ideas?
