Here's one way you could do it.  Not all that simple, however:


1) Create the text;

2) Copy it to a lower layer;

3) Break it apart into shapes;

4) Scale each shape larger by the same factor (say, 115%);

5) Select all these enlarged shapes, which should intersect, and combine

them into one fill.


You may need to keep the shapes separate during part of this process. You

can do so by grouping each shape after the initial breaking apart of the

letter.
