Subject: FLASH: scenes and things *panic*

Hi there,

I know it's a Saturday (well, here in sunny South Africa it is) but I'm
hoping s/one's around to help me out.

The reason for the panic is I have a Tuesday morning deadline ...
I have a client who needs a funky business plan on a cd. No
problem; do it in Flash (which I've been using for a couple of
months so that's not TOO daunting) then take it into Director
(which I've never even looked at but a friend of mine uses all the
time and she's going to do the converting to .exe bit for me)

All good and well til I got John's message of "scenes are not the
way to go" message. Uhh .... I have this really nice (_I_ think)
presentation spread over 26 scenes ... *eek*

It's fairly straightforward: an intro; a main interface screen with 6
buttons which point to the six main sections (some of which have
buttons which take you into their subsections) .... and it all works
fiiiiine .... except for the button rollovers - I've used movieclips and
they run a bit slow (and I can't take frames out - the keyframes in
the rollover animation are one frame away from each other). But
otherwise everything works 100%.
(I did notice that the rollovers ran fine speed-wise til I put all the
scenes in tho)

Now ... I'm wondering:

Will making each scene (section) a MC containing the buttons with
their MC's etc help this at all?

And if this is the case; how will the timeline work? The intro --->
main interface which then has a "stop" action at the end of it and
then the various section MC's after that and each button in the
main interface has a "go to and play frame number x" ?

I realise this is probably a no-brainer ... but I've been working on
this for 3 days with no sleep. ;-)

Any help would be HUGELY appreciated.

Meryl
