Hi Peebles,

When converting from raster to vectors you are always going to have
problems.

The WMF format imports into Flash with the least errors.
WMF files are made up of line segments which is perfect for square and
rectagular shapes but increases file size and accuracy for curves.
I normally smooth imported WMF files then optimize.
Don't import gradients; use solid fills and apply gradients in Flash.
If possible draw or trace by hand to create the smallest files.
Though this may seem like a lot of work it may be a timesaver especially
if optimization is needed to get small file sizes.
