Hiya Alex, Wayne,
I was curious what the response so far on this site is. It it obvious that an
artistic hand played a part and
the schematic work is on a more expert level, however what is the response from
the "non-flash" developer?
First, 7 megs is awfully large for your average surfer. Also is there serious
attention for this type of Flash content
from potential clients? IOWs, are interactive Flash games marketable. Can
developers make serious money from this type
of Flash application or is it more an "experimental" piece? As far as I know,
Dir games are not that hot and are usually
avoided by paying clients and are rare projects.
This game is quite complex, but are people really looking to play these type of
games on the internet? Flash games and complex cartoon animations seem, in most
part, to be cumbersome and their fun factor simply doesnt compete with the
latest CD-rom/3DFX "Myst" like, adventure games. I personally left without
finishing the game because the fun factor didnt
justify the file size and the cumbersome animations even though it seemed to
rate higher on a professional scale.
These questions are really more for people who are marketing Flash which still
seems to be a scarce discussion on this list.
