Subject: | FLASH: voice recording- preload? |

Un-lurking for the first time, I'd like to say "Thank you!" to
all of you who contribute on this list. You have no idea
how much it is appreciated.
Now my question, and please bear in mind that I'm
a newbie to Flash:
The folks upstairs have insisted that I use a digital voice
recording in our Flash-splash... I've done all the
quality trade-off I can do to get it as small as possible.
The problem is that the splash is relatively short (approx.
10 secs) and the voice recording is approx. 2.5 seconds.
Fortunately, the voice recording will be played at the end.
My question to you all is, well, how do I get this recording
into the movie, and prevent it from being choppy? Will it
be choppy? I'm I right in understanding that the final frame
(if that's where I stick the recording to be played) won't
render until the entire recording (and whatever other data
is needed) is downloaded? Is there a way to preload
sound data?
Okay, that was more than one question...
If you believe a link to a tutorial would be helpful,
by all means send it. Also, please CC me a reply,
since I'm on the digest version of this list.
Thank you for your time,
CA
