This is kinda (OT) but certainly Flash related....I've produced some
"stuff" for a client, some of which is Flash based. Everything runs fine
locally on the clients hard drive, but I rec'd an email yesterday
stating..."Good morning, I got all your messages.
Just to clarify, I have no problem opening default.htm after I unzip it,
from my local drive. When I copied over to my server, run within my
INTRANET server, it only shows the blue background. Is it that I might
have to install Flash? This is not good, because I have over 100+ users
all over the place, we have such a difficulty to install IE 4.0 on their
desk top (it's been over 2 months and it's not done yet!) so, I really
don't want to have to install anything on their PC, even if it's easy,
free, and downloadable....That's why we want everything to be Intranet,
not client server, so we don't need to have anything installed on any
user pc."
Now I'm thinking to myself, I've got plan B if this goes real bad, and I
certainly need to talk to the MIS people first to make sure the "mime
type" is set...but in light of all the talk about Flash plug-in
saturation...has anyone else run into this "Oh my god, the sky is
falling" scenario?
