Subject: FLASH: Optimised Bitmap Tracing & Discreet PAINT*
From: DEINUM tMS

What are the main things to pay attention to while tracing a bitmap?

I draw a feather as a bitmap and tried to trace is in Flash, but the small
bitmap turned out to become a vector image of 180kB. This filesize is way to
big, but I don't know how to optimise this without losing quality. Can
anyone tell me how to optimise this in Flash3 or would it be better to do
this in e.g. Adobe Streamline or are there other good options?

My second question concerns Discreet Paint*. Has anyone worked or
experimented with
this software to create vector images for Flash import?
I read that you're painting with vectors and that you're also able of
creating a movie-like sequence. But is it also possible to save your
sequence as a series of vectorised images. Or will the render engine output
a series of bitmaps?
