What seems simple on the surface becomes a nightmare in execution.
Image I'm trying to execute: a set of window blinds in perspective (so each
blade has to be a little different, v.p. to the right) slowly opening.
What I've done: In the first keyframe I begin by using the rectangular
drawing tool and draw a long rectangle. Taking the arrow tool I grab each
corner and move it so that I achieve the correct perspective for the first
frame. Create a new keyframe at 120 (on the same layer). I then take the
arrow tool and grab each corner in turn, move it so that I acheive the
correct perspective (an open blade). Going back to the first frame I create
the tween (shape).
What I get: When I play this I get a blade that appears closed in the first
frame (wide) and slowly opens to a thin sliver in the final frame. Just what
I wanted.
But later: When I repeat this proceedure on subsequent layers as I build my
blinds I get some mysterious happenings. The tweeening begins to go haywire.
Instead of the shape shrinking in height and going from a wide blade to a
thin blade the corners in opposition to each other tween across the entire
length of the blade before finishing at the final thin blade on the final
frame. In essence it looks like an elongated diamond if you were to look at
frame 60 for instance.
There is nothing logical about this. I have tried many different scenarios
to "trick" the program to duplicate the other layers that are working
correctly. Even copying one of the correct layers and tweeking it on a new
layer to fit the perspective but it still happens.
I am finished with 9 blades at the top of the blind and 17 blades at the
bottom of the blind but there are five in the center that I cannot get to
work. I have a couple in the top that don't work as well as I want them to
but they aren't too bad.
Any ideas or perspectives on this would be appreciated.
