I hear what you're saying - but unfortunately that's not the way the US Gov.
feels about it. We do get a break on sales tax, however (if you live in NY).

Not the time, but the value of the actual art files... like they were a
painting or illustration. We know an artist who has been doing this for a
number of years with paintings. Why would a Freehand or Illustrator file be
any different? It's just a different medium.
