<caffeinated soapbox rant warning>
PLEASE.
Get out a ruler and a calculator. Open your browser, open a new
browser window, and maximize it (without turning off toolbars, etc.).
Now measure the width and the height, and divide the width by the
height. Depending upon your browser, and monitor size, you'll get a
number somewhere around 1.8. THIS NUMBER, and NOT 1.33, is the proper
ratio to use for your stage areas, if you want to take maximum
advantage of the *actual viewable portion within the window* on your
screen. Just because your monitor's ratio is 1.33 to 1, doesn't mean
your browser window's proportions are the same. They're not! So, if
you're gonna consider height of your Web page in *any way*, you need
to either use the proper ratio, or don't bother! Pages designed to be
600x480 or even 600x450 (a much more common set of figures) *will*
have scroll bars on small monitors, even though they fit width-wise.

*DAMN*.
Last Friday, 2/25/00, and/or Sunday, 2/27/00, on FoxNews' "The
O'Reilly Factor", Bill O'Reilly read *my* email to him! BUT I didn't
run a VCR on it. Anybody have a copy? TNX.
