Kurt,
I have to ask why you are breaking up words in the following blurb the way
you are:
"In 1990, the artist founded Sea Vision, a nonprofit orga-nization that uses
his name and influence to advocate the protection and preservation of
fragile marine ecosystems around the world. The foundation funds
conservation efforts, educational programs, and public awareness cam-paigns,
and works in strategic partnerships with active environmental organizations
such as Sea Shepherd. The marine life that has so inspired the art of
Christian Riese Lassen has also given him the opportunity to work with the
United Nations. In 1998, Christian had the honor of being com-missioned to
create an above-and-below marine painting, "Sanctuary," for the United
Nations' commemorative stamp for ocean preservation. Appointed the Friends
of the United Nations' goodwill ambassador for 1998's International Year of
the Ocean, Christian was a featured speak-er at major environmental events
throughout the world. Christian's continuing efforts to enlighten-his
passion to preserve-translate into works of art that delight the spirit and
spark the soul. It is this artist's greatest hope that his message will move
people everywhere to preserve and protect our precious Earth.
"orga-nization" - organization
"cam-paigns" - campaigns
"com-missioned" - commissioned
"speak-er" - speaker
I have gotten a lot of flak for my campaign of correct spelling when it
comes to e-mail and other less-than-professional (in some peoples' opinions)
communication venues, but this is for real, and these shortcomings need to
be addressed.
I thought the site was fairly well-done otherwise. There are other things I
can nitpick about, but as I said to someone else earlier, they may not
amount to much.
