Thanks Brandon, that was helpful. I've gotten to the next step and am stuck
again.
I've placed this in the draggable MC.
On (Press)
Start Drag (GetProperty (_x,_y), L=20, T=400, R=200, B=401)
End On
On (Release)
If (_droptarget eq "movie4")
End If
Stop Drag
End On
I know that I need a Go to play after the if statement. I can send it to
play a frame or expression, but I cannot direct the MC to go to a particular
scene in the parent movie. What am I missing? Besides a good rational left
side of my brain.

When you drop a movie clip a value is placed in its _droptarget property.
This is the name of the instance you dropped the MC on top of. For example
on your line you will probably have 10 MCs, named /1, /2, /3, etc
All you then have to do is in the on Release code of your draggable MC
reference the _droptarget property of its self to see what you dropped on
top of and hence do the correct thing.

Subject: FLASH: Drag and Drop Double Trouble/
Hello all,
Having some problems with ActionScripting.
I can understand the drag part and have successfully found the answers to
the question of dragging a MC within a rectangle.
However, I want the user, not only to drag a circle over a line of 10
numbers (1 - 0), but to have the placement of the circle over a particular
number reveal a title, then send the user to a coresponding scene. Is it
_droptarget I use? I don't know!
My poor old designer's brain pale's at the thought of another blind search
for the truth. But I know. . . it's out there.
Thank you for your help.
I feel like Blanche DuBois.
