First of all you are seeing two SWFs, the actual magnified image is a whole
separate SWF, I can swap that out whenever...
Secondly, the scroll bar on the right is the zoom controller... :-)

There are actually two controller MCs working at all times, the one in the
slider that controls the scaling of the magified ( and masked ) copy and
another controller that dynamically moves the magnified copy around based on
the position of the mouse and the current scale of the copy (it looks at the
copies scale to determine this)
As for making it smoother... I fiddled with the code before I put it up,
trying to find any real places to optimize and could not find any... moving
around large, complex, and dynamically scaled vector images eats up
processor power...
(Oh, and in case you didn't notice, you can throw the glass as well)

Hi, Branden.
I did a similar one last month, but seems like there ought to be a way to
make the movement smoother. Plus, I have some problems with re-positioning
the underlying zoomable copy of the object when the user changes the zoom
level. See what I mean at http://members.home.com/cherica/Magnify.swf
Seems like it works ok the first time, but then if you move the glass off to
the side & reduce the zoom effect, when you go back over the object it is
offset. Do you have the "zoom controller" (mine is on the handle of the
mag. glass) do any adjustment of the position? Or is it all in the drag
action?
