It's not the math that I'm looking for. Just what exactly draws the results.
It could be as simple as x squared plus y squared equals 5. Then draw it.

Well, it depends on how you want to draw it.. the code for the bezier is
pretty complex, using a whole wade of very optimized (and hence fairly
illedgible) code. If you have a specific example/use I might be able to
help you more.

I saw the curve earlier....that's what started me thinking. The .swf file
doesn't help me much. Could I see an example of an .fla or do you know of a
tutorial. I don't know which action to start with to make it draw to my
equation.

Yes, it is, you just need to know the finer points of Flash scripting... for
example..
www.figleaf.com/development/flash4/bezier.swf
I could turn that into a continuous line by creating multiple line segments
as well.
I am working on a write up of how to draw lines with Flash.
