Subject: FLASH: Streaming Sound Lag
From: Aaron M Spence

Hi fine brothers and sisters of the Chinwagian flasher league, (that sounds
rather dodgy doesn't it?)

I have a large presentation, that stops for up to 5 mins while a presenter
errr...presents.

Problem, when presenter clicks right arrow key after a time delay, flash
starts playing the next frames right away but the sound doesn't start for
maybe 1 - 2 seconds. When the sound does start it is synced to the
graphics, it drops the couple of seconds of lag out. The sound is set to
'stream' in some instances, and as an 'event' sound in others. This doesn't
seem to make a difference. Both lag. The sound is encoded to MP3 max
quality ie 160 kps.

I was running this from cd-rom which I thought might be the problem, but the
same issue occurs running from the hard drive also.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Aaron M Spence
