FLASH: sound in preloader

hi flashers, firstly. thanks to marc hoffman of Poison

Dart Frog Media...i will try your suggestion. am i

correct in assuming that you need to explicitly tell

sounds not to play in a preloader and this is the

reason why they are placed in an mc with the sound set

to off?

does this mean that when i preload the sound mc's the

sound files will be preloaded but not play, and

throughout the rest of the movie i can just use the

sounds as usual- eg placed in frame whaterver?

i still do not understand why my preloader failed

given the instructions i paid for in a $aus50.00+

book- i must have overlooked something.

i am using a mac with flash 4 and the '.a' updater.
