Well... as the author of 2 3D engines for Flash, I have to let people know
that this code is not simple, nor well suited for plug n play. However
certain parts of it, such as the z-sorting, aren't too bad by themselves.
The Z sorting is actually an interesting hack... you are contstantly
duplicating and destroying movie clips. This allows you to change the Z
order because you are actually redrawing the whole stage. On an interesting
note, I am in the process of looking into open-sourcing my flash 3D chemical
modeler... If/when that happens, I will let people know.

I hate to me too, but I'd also love to see an fla or tutorial on this :)
Beautifully done and I can imagine all sorts of uses for it. You've got the
speed of rotation set dependant on how fast the drag and release is?
