Subject: FLASH: sending Variables w/response + other Newbie stuff
From: Tim Kloss

Hi.

New to this list and doing this sort of thing
with flash. So my apoligees if it has been
bought up many a time before or is desperatly obvious.

- I am trying to send back some variables to a "mailform" CGI script.
This works fine. However for the user to know that the variables have been
recieved I need a response back to them. The CGI has a facility for a
"redirect", so I was using this to point the sender to a web page. I would
like it if the "redirect" URL could be a SWF file which the movie/runtime
could then load instead. I am using the "load movie" command (w/ send
variables). I cannot get it to work however.

Also on a PC the runtime ".exe" version of my flash creation is not sending
using the "get URL" command, when the users are connected to the
internet.(the same file works flawlessly on the Mac) -- Is this a bug?

...Also is it possible to just save variables locally on a users disk (and
then reload them later.)

...One last thing: Is there a way of specifiying which text box/button the
tab key jumps the user to when pressed, it seems random, but can't be!

Many thanks in advance for any help..

Regards

Tim K
