Yeah, maybe not. But Dostoyevsky's novel didn't have to be at the
publisher's by EOB Thursday!

Well, there's something to be said for that, but I doubt Dostoyevsky often
got up and went down to the pub to ask what Raskolnikov should do next after
fifteen minutes of fruitless thought.
