Helen

I don't think I quite explained what I'm trying to do.....I want your
"right"....to be a variable obtained from my text file so the client can
dynamically update the tickers attributes...including which HTML frame is
targetted by the link?

Cheers

MM

++ Hi Mike,
++
++ The correct syntax would be Get URL (sGoToURL,
++ window="right"). (In my
++ case sGoToURL is a textfield variable, but I think you've
++ got that part
++ worked out OK already).
++
++ You can see an ugly but working version at
++ http://i-technica.com/flash/passvarframes.html which uses
++ the code above
++ (I pasted it to be sure) in the frame 3 action. To make it
++ work, type a
++ 1, 2 or 3 into the "Which record?" box, then click Go. When
++ you see the
++ url (pulled from a database) pop up into the sGoToURL box, click Go
++ again. This will cause the URL that got pulled from the database to
++ open in a frame (named "right") on the right.
++
++ Regards,
++ Helen
