I suspect you have to set the background of your movie to black.....or to
transparent, otherwise when it scales up it will leaves visible gaps at the
side (unless exact fit is specified) I udually get around this with a 5
frame set, the middle frame centered. Then set the Flash to exact fill the
centre frame (which can be any size you wish)......

++ modify movie). When I load it in a browser at 790x450 it

++ (but bigger than I want). When I set it to 80% in the
++ Publish Settings,
++ publish it, then modify the html to have body bgcolor=black
++ and object
++ param bgcolor=black, the size is nice but I get horizontal white bars
++ next to the movie--why, and how do I get rid of them?
