Thanks for the response, John. FLA is a format though and defined someplace
in some code module (I would imagine that FLA is fairly well documented and
modern in its structure and not a product of putting truckloads of patches
on 80's technology like some products still lingering on the market).

It sounds more like what you are saying is that it isnt worth the effort to
code it into Fireworks, or there is some other business reason not to do it.
I see this as a weakness in the products that reduces productivity.

Macromedia has a lot of muscle in the marketplace in animation, web and
vector graphics, but this is a hole in your production solution (at least
how it was presented during one of those Macromedia seminars I attended).
