Great advice from Marc. One additional small thing to consider if
you'll be including screenshots or other bitmaps (which don't resize
well): make sure that 800x600 is the size you want before you start
designing. If you'll be transferring the content to the web someday and
want to run it in a browser window as opposed to a popup window, you'd
be better off with content that's something like 750x450 (maybe even
filling the surrounding area with background color to make your
standalone fullscreen at 800x600). Just a thought (one that came after
the fact for me when I did a project similar to yours).
