John and Jester:

Thanks so much for answering, but its not the answer I wanted to hear!
:(

Actually, I thought someone had posted that they'd found a bug and you
could place the avi as a graphic, or something like that and it would
still play... oh well, I'm probably just misremembering... (its a real
bummer to get old an senile <g>!)

...too bad they have the options section of the avi sort of misleading
when it says 'play on client'... sort of makes you wish it would work
that way <vbg>.

I *do* have another question though... is it possible to have a swf
made into a projector file, and then have the movie open a browser?
I'm talking about a 'stand-alone' executable movie brought up on a
desktop and executed. This would play a short intro and then bring
up a menu where folks could select different areas of an intranet
site. When they make their selection the movie would start a browser
up for them and take them to the site. Any way to do that? I've tried
a couple of simple tests, but unless I'm missing something, it doesn't
seem to work. ...it'd be cool though huh?
