Thanks Laura, that all makes sense now cheers.
Without trying to be cheeky, I dont suppose you've got any clues on the
other problem have you? I've attached it again below just in
case 8-)
Simon.

I've got a problem (still) with an action on a button, that has a 'on
>release, goto and play (m/c)' action attached to it. At the moment it
>needs 2 clicks to make it go to the specific frame to play and then only it
>completes half of the animation of the movie clip if the cursor is still
hovering over the
>button. As soon as the cursor moves off the button it works fine...!
>Any help appreciaited.

P.S I've tried it with tell target too and same problem happens!

Hi Simon,

If an instance of a movie clip or button is available on the current
keyframe, flash lists that target in the window. If you haven't named
your
clip, haven't put in a keyframe, or are not currently on a frame where
the
clip is placed, it won't show up. Although not having the clip available
in
the parameters window is a good hint that you may have improperly named
or
placed the clip, there may be occasions when you want to call it without
it
being available yet (for example, if you're using a 'goto frame' before
the
tell target, the clip may be available on the frame called but not the
one
where you're writing the action.) I hope that's clear and helps :)
