1.  drag select the desired frames, 2. copy frames from the edit menu

(option-command-c or ctrl-alt-c), 3. insert menu> create symbol, select

movie clip from the pop-up window (this takes you into the symbol editing

environment)

4. in first frame of layer one paste frames (option-command-v or ctrl-alt-v).
