Ok OK ... I take it that a 3 min download of an entire driving system and 3

songs and 9 images and 3 full screen animations (all in 3 mins though) -

depending on how sh!t the bandwidth is ... is asking to much of the flash

newbies then. :(



well ... Jeremy ... I am hanging in here for the release of FLASH 4 with the

MP3 support and ... THEN by keeping that site as is - and just replacing the

wav loops with MP3 loops with HALF the download time - Kapish?

Hello again...


I am new here so, I really can't give much into the Flash Site wars... but 

I can tell you what I think of the site....


Over all I thought it was pretty nice. I understand (now) How much work

goes into

a site... And I thanks those of you who have helped me so far with my own

project 

with your answers to my questions....


I'm am a little confused why the download is so big? With the inside also

downloading....

I think this could be a nicer site if you tightened up the download a bit.


I know with my own project the file size has become a nightmare,

But what I did was found that I could preload my main menu


Let my main menu play...


Allow a user to look about for what they wanted and then upon execution of

a button to

a section.. I had a preloader check to make sure that section was ready...


I also moved section that I felt would be investigated last  to the end of

the movie.


This so far has help the start up of the site move nicely and with the

small preloader

(Which I call Section Checkers) allows the site to keep streaming as menus

load and unload....


I usually have a bad habit of doing thing the hard way, and I started off

with Several swf files loading and

unloading... But after trial and error a single large movie seems to be the

way to go....


Anyway, I just wanted to throw out there what I have used to help the flow

of my menus and perhaps

this is something you all do or for some reason don't do but, I found so

far this works very well for me...
