Here's a posting from Michael Penney from awhile back that might help
(it's from the flashlist database at http://i-technica.com/flashlist,
search on "white screen"):
Assuming the background color of the movie is black, have you tried
putting 5 so so empty frames in the start of the movie? Also what is the
data rate of your first few frames? We had this problem with a projector
that started with a large bitmap, adding some empty frame to the start
cleared it up.
