Johnathon, I'm not an A.S. expert, but what I would do is change the set
variable in the main time line, rather than the MC. Unless you have a ton
of them. Or create a separate level just for storing variables.

Remember that if you name them in the MC, you have to refer to them as that
in the main time line.

"/MC:Variable" Something like that.
