This is actually very easy.
The SWF file for the photos is huge. (2.11 megs, to be exact)
The very clever uses of intro text that prepares you for the Photo section
is actually the pre-loader. The pictures are very interesting, so the viewer
will spend a moment looking at them, then they must click the Next button.
Of course by then, 10 more photos have loaded in the background. The MIDI
music is loaded in the HTML, not the SWF file, so it doesn't add to the
size.
This is a very good example of the 'proper' pre-loader.

I have around 100 images, and am looking for a way to dynamically load
them take a look at www.foto3.com.
He has 150 images there (2.5) Mb and.. you do not wait a second to view it
of couse he is going frame by frame) email him and he may share the
techniques with you
