FLASH: simple problem - brain can't think of answer!

I have several movie clips that begin/end animation off the stage 

area. When they are put into the movie, however, the 'off stage' 

movement shows up to the viewer. I know it must be a simple solution, 

but I can't figure it out . Anyone got the answer out there?
