Hi Marie,
My experience with scenes is this....
I agree with what you are saying as far as organization.I sometimes use
Flash in that manner as a Storyboarding Tool to help illustrate things to a
project manager or whoever (I use Director in that manner as well). I will
take my storyboard fla and open as a library and have at it.
As far as lag differences I have noticed that for a scene with no bitmaps
and very few vectors (in other words not much) there is not much lag at
all,but with a scene of an substance or complexity scenes really blow. I
guess if you like the scenes that much you can always use a preloader up
front. You can often make a fun preloader as well..
Sorry to venture off there,but as far as scenes go I never use them for
production work especially since the arrival of movie clips.
There you have it my view of scenes,but to each their own:)
