Certainly you can have 3 or more Flash films in one Director movie. You
just have to watch out, depending on how many you have, performance can
suffer. But that happens with larger numbers (I had something like 10
MOVING Flash sprites in Director and performance was obviously bad).

You can tell Flash movies to play, stop, jump to markers, etc. through
Director. What type of communication are you trying to figure out? Try
looking in the Director manual for more information.
