FLASH: Must I use frames...?

Hi All,

I'm new here so first I'd like to thank everyone contributing to this 

resource.


Moving right along, could someone answer this one:


I've made a Flash 3 (.spl) navigation device, a wheel of buttons. Each 

individual button highlights on rollover, but I want the rollover action to 

also change the state of another Flash movie (that's been placed in it's own 

Dreamweaver layer). 


Can I easily target a layer and how?


It seems like I can't, and that I either must use frames or one larger Flash 

movie combining the wheel of buttons and the additional rollover art.
