I think King is saying that your analogy doesn't really
help your argument...he seems right to me...

You likened the ability to run the _output_ of director
on both platforms to running photoshop on both
platforms, and clearly comparing those two things is
like comparing apples to oranges (to use another
analogy) since one is output and the other is the core
program.

How is it completely different? How does this prove
your point? Macromedia could bundle Mac and PC
versions of Director together like they do with Flash...
it's not only possible, but it's also easy to do without
any extra development effort (just put both CDs in one
box!).
So clearly MM is only doing this for the money. I don't
have a problem with that though, because that's
business. If they didn't make money, then they wouldn't
exist and we couldn't use their cool software... And if they
didn't make _me_ money, then I wouldn't buy it anyway...
