Hi everyone,
Sorry to interrupt your day, and yes I did post this yesterday, but I have
tested further and can explain the problem better now.
Anyone have any idea what is going wrong?...would it be a server problem?
although tried Unix and nt server...is it a browser problem?
I have created a movie which loads data from a remote PHP file via a frame
based load variable command.
All works as it should when tested locally, but when it's uploaded to the
server the PHP data fails to show. I have tried having a blank frame at the
beginning etc. but to no avail.
I am sure that there was a recent thread which gave a solution to this
problem but I can't seem to find it.....any ideas?
Just when it was going so well.:(
The file acts as it should when tested locally either as projector or in a
HTM page, when tested from the server
www.crescent-graphics.co.uk/castdotcom/pages/testmap.htm the PHP string
fails to appear (should be to the right of the rollover buttons), most
confusing.
The URL I am using returns the correct string if entered directly into the
browser http://212.69.197.118/generator/mapdata.php3?city=Kansas+City which
I know works if entered in a browser as the correct data string is returned.
I have also tried calling a text file for the data string which works fine
http://www.crescent-graphics.co.uk/castdotcom/pages/memphis_vars.txt
The testmap.htm file has both of these methods in place, Kansas uses the PHP
path and memphis uses the text file path.
This problem only occurs when the files are uploaded to the server, although
apparently Mac IE has the problem locally also.
I am totally stumped, tried every which way to overcome the problem, any
suggestions?
I am sure that it is something very silly.
I will gladly send the fla etc if it would help.
TIA
Phil Ward
