Subject: | FLASH: W3C opinion of flash |

Hiya all, just logged back on after being away for about a month. Just came
accross something interesting, what do ya'll reckon.
A work collegue recently participated in a face-to-face meeting
of the CSS Working Group of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and
this was one of the topics on discussion.
"More and more members of the W3C express their concern about Flash.
Flash is invading the web and even if it allows big steps in design
and ergo, it is also (a) non selectable (b) non indexable (c) non
URL-able on a frame-per-frame basis.
The W3C has this week in Amsterdam one its annual big
meetings with all members' representatives and some of them and
this point will surely be on the table at some time.
On the other hand, the SVG plug-in from Adobe allows very powerful
vector graphics in XML and most software vendors want to push that
technology instead of Flash."
