FLASH: PC vs MAC flash speed (in browser)

this applies to this movie:

on a mac: g4 400mhz 64meg ram macos 9 ie5 ( < 1 year old)

old pc: ppro 200 128meg ram, win2k, ie5 ( > 3 years old)

new pc: athlon 750, 256meg, win2k, ie5


on my old computer i got about 2 fps

on the mac i get about 3 fps (slightly better)

on my new computer i get a massive improvement, approaching 8-10 fps.


why's it so slow on the mac? if you go by the hype it should be much faster,

but apple wouldn't skew benchmarks would they? (:P) is it a macos problem or

something?

i check the technotes and couldn't find anything helpful. there are no other

programs running, but the browser.

this is effect is pure actionscript so it should be the processor.


i don't want to start a mac vs pc war, but i want to know why it's so slow

on the mac and how i can make it faster (if possible)
