Actually I work through a middle-man... He handles the contacts with the
companies, and when he needs a game made, he asks me for an estimate and
sees what he can get from there. The games range from $3K - $10K depending
or a lot of things... given how many hits a crossword puzzle game can
generate, the fact that they get the source code, and the extreme ease of
use to create new puzzles for the engine, its worth at least 10K for a LOT
of companies. :-)

You and two other people who responded offlist say the same thing. Many
thanks for the quick responses. I haven't done any video editing
either, so I know whatever time I estimate will be way under the time
I'll actually spend if I do it myself, but I wanted to get an idea of
how long it *should* take or would take someone else who has done it.
Any other input gladly accepted if anyone else has different (or the
same) ideas on time estimates. And Branden, where *do* you find these
magical clients who'll spend ten thousand dollars for a crossword
puzzle?
Thanks again,
Helen
