Remember that you can set an imported JPEG to "Use Imported JPEG Data"...

just check this box in the "Bitmap Properties" available in its Library

entry. This lets you use the JPEG settings from Fireworks, for instance.


(The "Update" button in that dialog seems to be underutilized... if you

change the source bitmap you can quickly update it across the Flash movie

this way.)
