Very nice design on both versions. How come you didn't go full screen with
your flash?

I cheated with my cgi. It doesn't actually know if the script was
successful or not. I send the data first to the script, then play the
thankyou scene This simple emailer script never fails anyway, but if you
incorporate a database transaction, we should do fail checking. You can
easily send the browser to the script, do your scripting and cacluations,
database entries, then print out a the thank you scene upon success or error
scene upon some failure, but you're screen will blink with the redirect.
Ideally, you should be able to execute the script without leaving flash, and
get a response back before printing anything to the browser. Can't we send
a via GET, then do:
if response true
Goto and play "thankyou"
else
goto and play "failed"

...hmmmm...

Hi Charles,

Some nice touches on the panoramic site - the thing that really intereted me
was the mailing list submission form. This is exactly what I am trying to
achieve myself on http://www.panlogic.co.uk - the Flash version to echo the
version on www.panlogic.co.uk/join.html.

Also, do you know how to incorporate a timer function that returns the
thanks frame ONLY when the cgi has been succesfully executed?

many thanks, take a look at my Flash stuff, would appreciate your comments.
