If your symbols are in the library you can open your library and click on
the *options* tab in the upper right of the library and then *select unused
items*... this usually works but what I do just in case is save, select and
delete then play it BEFORE I save again, just to make sure... sometimes too
you need to do it a couple of times =0).

Is there a way to detect (other than memory) and delete unused
graphics/bitmaps from a flash movie? I know Director has (or had) a menu
which named unused sprites...
